SpeakUp! for Parenting Adults

SpeakUp! is designed to help parenting adults discover ways to connect with your teen that build trust and understanding, making it more likely that when something important is on their mind, they’ll turn to you.

Through this program, you’ll learn how to create a safe space where open, honest conversations about tough topics are possible. You’ll Come experience SpeakUp!, and see how the power of communication can bring you and your teen closer together, so you can be there to guide and support them—no matter what life throws their way.

“As a parent, I’ve changed my thoughts, attitude and behavior after listening to the students express their points of view on important topics that affect their lives every day.”

– A SpeakUp! Parent

90% of adult participants have a more positive view of young people as a result of SpeakUp!

SpeakUp! doesn’t stop with our in-school event. We complement our school-based program with our “Continue the Conversation” series, offering adults more chances to learn skills and gain confidence in talking about these same topics.

Continue the Conversation Series

Parenting Adult Coffee Series

We host a series of Parenting Adult Coffees throughout the school year. Our morning sessions are held in-person at the SpeakUp! office and evening sessions are held virtually on Zoom. These gatherings are designed to dive deeper into topics where more guidance and support is needed and requested by our parenting adult participants.

Grandparent Coffee Series

SpeakUp!’s Grandparent Coffee Series consists of three sessions spread throughout the school year to provide a unique space for grandparents to gather. These sessions are designed to provide grandparents a place to discuss topics unique to grandparents while receiving support and guidance from others in your shoes.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour training to teach participants how to help someone struggling with their mental health or experiencing a mental health crisis.
